The large window gives you a lovely view, and our room 325 had plenty of space with a Deluxe king-sized bed. It’s an old hotel with a warm, welcoming feel, but the air-con has been updated. The room was pretty clean, and they provide toiletries like liquid soap and shampoo that you can take home. A classic place that spoils guests with its facilities.

The lobby team were friendly and greeted us with smiles, and there’s plenty of parking, including in the basement. Dynasty Hotel Miri is right in central Miri, which is handy, and the free shuttle van is a nice extra. It’s an older property, but it was clean and well maintained. A couple of drawbacks: the bidet pressure was weak and uneven, and there’s no pool. Also, you can’t take the lift straight from basement parking up to the rooms.

The mattress really needs replacing. I could already feel the springs through it. The hotel has a vintage feel and seems to be more than 30 years old, but it’s kept up well and was clean.

I left feeling angry and really disappointed. At check-in, the front desk told us we could park freely in the spaces outside. We waited for a car to leave and were about to pull in when a security guard stepped in front of the spot and said it had to be reserved in advance. I’d seen the other car leave, and only afterward did the person who supposedly had the reservation slowly come over. We still weren’t allowed to park. It left me wondering whether you need to bribe security or know them personally to get a space here.

The service was good, and aside from the problems in the room, everything else was okay. The room smelled strongly of smoke, and one bedside lamp had a smoky odor, like it might have shorted out. The iron was poor quality and nearly burned my shirt, leaving a scorch mark 😢. The TV was pretty small too 😅. Other hotels in Miri at a similar price already have larger smart TVs. Hope Dynasty Hotel is in better shape next time. Thanks for the stay!
