Miri Marriott Resort & Spa

For our first anniversary, we chose Miri Mariott Resort & Spa for a staycation after our recent miscarriage, hoping for a peaceful place to heal. We’d told the hotel in advance why we were visiting. Roland, the guestroom attendant, left a thoughtful handwritten note on the bedside table and decorated the bed with towel swans and flowers. That personal gesture meant a lot to us. Our oceanview room had the serene view we needed. Hospitality was top notch throughout, from the warm receptionist at check-in to the friendly cafe baristas and helpful concierge team. Check-in also included a short wheel of fortune activity. We spent time at all three pools. Two are for children, and one has a fun water slide. The main pool is 1m to 1.5m deep, well maintained, and suitable for all ages. A dedicated towel bin by the pool would make returning towels more convenient. Breakfast was brilliant, with lots of choices and different fresh juices. The menu changed a little over our 3 days, which kept it interesting. We also loved the scones at hi-tea, and the staff were very helpful. The bathtub and sink drained properly, and the hot water worked consistently. I especially loved the shower gel’s calming scent, which comes from aromatherapy essential oil. We also received plenty of complimentary gifts during our stay. The room had an iron and ironing board. TV had the usual channels, but more international or entertainment options would be a good future upgrade. We enjoyed the stay immensely and found the caring, peaceful atmosphere we were hoping for. We’d definitely return. InshaAllah.

The setting is well designed for its location, and the hotel itself is very nice. Our room was great and the staff were kind, though the shower water pressure was a bit low. The location didn’t really suit me. It’s close to the airport and great if you like nature, but there aren’t many good restaurants nearby, in my opinion, and the WiFi wasn’t very good.

We enjoyed a very pleasant 4D3N at Miri Marriott Resort & Spa. The pool was a standout, one of the largest I’ve seen, always clean, and facing the South China Sea with beautiful sunset views. The grounds are lush and sprawling, though there’s a lot of walking if your room is at the far end. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, but some of the décor feels dated despite a few upgrades. Staff were friendly, attentive, and professional throughout, and breakfast had a good range of fresh choices. The location is fantastic, just a short drive from the city center, Miri’s main attractions, shopping, restaurants, and the airport. Beach access is limited because of erosion and currents. Even so, the atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming, making it a good fit for a family holiday or weekend escape. A solid choice if you want convenience and resort comfort.

They made my birthday feel special at Marriott Resort & Spa Miri. I’d requested decorations when booking, and they went beyond what I expected: a cute towel “birthday cake” on the bed and a real slice of cake as a surprise. Such a thoughtful touch that really made my day. Highly recommend.
