Yew Hotel

A week ago. The price is good for a budget stay, the staff are friendly, and the AC is okay. But we couldn’t turn on the water, and all the bed sheets were dirty and smelly, so we had to buy our own to sleep more comfortably. There’s no elevator, and there was no Wi-Fi on the 3rd floor despite it being advertised. Parking is limited.

The room was basic but okay for the rate. TV programs were good, and there were two power outlets by the bedside table for charging. But my Agoda booking wasn’t showing in the hotel’s records. Parking was absent or very limited, so you had to arrive early and claim a space, or avoid moving your car after parking. The receptionist understood my English but couldn’t reply in English and insisted on speaking BM. Lousy service.

It was a budget stay, but I expected more comfort from the basic things, like the bedding, hygiene, and toilet facilities. I couldn’t sleep well because I was worried there might be bugs on the bed.

The room I booked was the most expensive one at the hotel, but it was still the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The sink faucet wouldn’t open, the toilet bowl was dirty, and the room and sheets were dusty, with the sheets also unclean. There were lots of hair cases, the refrigerator smelled bad, and plenty more was wrong.
