Homestay Muar

It's quiet and peaceful here, with a nice setting. The room was clean and tidy, thanks to cleaner ms yati, who did a good job.

For the price, this homestay is a great choice, and it has parking too. I'd recommend staying here. One frustrating incident wasn't the staff's fault, though. A tenant had parked in the long carpark, and I left my car in front of his. He told staff he needed to leave and my car was blocking him, so I came down straight away. I waited outside for over 20 minutes before he showed up and moved his car, letting me park in and then parking in front of me. I told him I needed to leave at 7:30am for an appointment the next day. At 7.30am I asked Longstay staff to wake him, but he wouldn't move even after staff knocked several times. I called the office twice, and he still didn't come out until about 8:20am. I ended up about 50 minutes late for my appointment!

The only real problem during my two-night stay was the noise coming through the thin door from the common areas. A school group had several rooms and the kids were making a lot of noise, even at 5am. Just unlucky timing.

The place sits in a residential area just off Jalan Junid, among a mix of luxury and cost rendah homes. It seems like someone's old bungalow was turned into a small hotel with several rooms. The facilities are basic but enough. There's no reception, but the hotel keeper lives there and was waiting for us when we arrived. Check-in was easy, though payment had to be in cash even though I booked using Booking.com. The air conditioning was cool, the water heater worked well, and the bed was comfortable. There was a TV, but we didn't turn it on.
