Hotel Sfera

The room was basic and had a strong musty smell when I walked in. The adults’ pool looked dirty, with green water, though the kids’ pool was cleaner. There’s a gym, but you need a keycard, and the counter gave us only one card for a room with three occupants. The check-in staff were better, explaining the paid parking, RM100 deposit, and RM3 fee. For a shoplot hotel, the place was better than I expected, though RM279 for a three-bed room with breakfast felt a bit pricey. The buffet was adequate, but the staff member meant to check breakfast eligibility wasn’t at the door. I went in when I saw my brother there, then he came over while I was looking at the food and rudely demanded my room number, without a greeting or apology.

The breakfast buffet food could be better, which is probably the main thing I’d change. Otherwise, everything was generally okay for my first overnight stay in Manjung. I got to check in a little early, around 1:30 pm, subject to availability. My room was spacious and across the bridge. Cleanliness was fine, and the front desk staff and housekeepers were friendly.

The room was clean and good, and breakfast was fine, alhamdulillah, though there were no half-boiled eggs. We stayed one night while visiting relatives before Ramadan. The slow water from the tap unfortunately affected our stay.

The hotel feels worn out and really needs a proper renovation. My room window wouldn’t close properly, though luckily it didn’t rain while I was there. There’s no indoor parking, so park at your own risk. Breakfast was okay, with some creative offerings.
