D'New 1 Hotel Near Sunway Pyramid, 6 Min Only

We had a pleasant two-night family stay. The room was clean, the beds were comfy, and the price was reasonable. The surroundings were nice and the staff really friendly. Sunway Pyramid is about a 10-minute walk away, there’s a convenience store next door, and a really good Chinese hawker stall around the corner behind the block.

The only plus for me was the location. The hotel is dirty, run down, and has a lot of different odors. There was no hot water for three days, none of the TVs worked, and the rooms were in a dangerously poor state of repair, as shown in the photos. We were also charged taxes we’d already paid. Agoda should remove it, and it shouldn’t be allowed to operate.

It’s not far from Sunway pyramid, and finding local or international food is easy. The service, though, was disappointing. I paid for two nights but stayed only one because I arrived too early. I’d requested early check-in beforehand, but the room still wasn’t ready. They then told us early check-in wasn’t a service they offered, and after that we had to switch rooms twice again. The room was messily prepared, the TV didn’t work, the towel rack was missing, and the water heater worked poorly. Room service took a while, though they eventually cooperated, and most staff weren’t welcoming. The staff and taxi service seemed to work together in a way that could leave tourists paying more than the meter. A taxi called by phone to the airport cost RM14 extra over the meter. The meter showed RM48, but the hotel and driver forced me to pay RM90. Please be honest with customers instead of trying to make extra profit. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.
