丰盛港TAd海港度假酒店(TAd Marine Resort Pulau Tinggi)

The sea was clear, blue, and turquoise, and our room was clean, close to the beach, and had the basics. We had the 3D2N full board package, which included one snorkeling trip and jungle trekking to a nearby waterfall. The meals were delicious, and the pool facing the sea was lovely. It also had a warm jacuzzi, though I'm not sure whether it was heated. The staff really made the stay. From the jetty and reception to the restaurant, snorkeling trip, trekking, and checkout, they greeted us with smiles and were consistently welcoming. After snorkeling, the staff member who took us out made a detour to his Kampung (Village) at another jetty on P. Tinggi. He cut a coconut with a knife fixed to a pole and treated us to a drink outside. Booking directly was easy too, with friendly, responsive staff. Such a wonderful experience. I'd give it 6/5 if I could.

The sand flies and sand fleas were everywhere, even by the pool. We could barely imagine doing anything except staying in the room or going snorkeling. We'd hoped to sit on a lounger on the white beach, have a cold beer, listen to the waves, and look out at the calm blue water. With the insects out of control, that relaxing beach time was just wishful thinking. Really disappointing.

I'd think twice before booking. We had five rooms, and every one had a serious bed bug problem. There was little or no water in the rooms much of the time, the food was very limited, and the beach was covered in black oil. We didn't see a single fish on the snorkeling trip. For the price, it wasn't worth it, and I wouldn't recommend it. The worst resort in Johor. One woman, possibly a manager, was very kind and helpful, though.

The food was excellent, with a good buffet selection, and the chef deserves credit for the tasty, quality meals. The staff were friendly and tried to make the stay pleasant. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, with hot water, a working TV, and air conditioning. The sea-facing chalets were great too: open the door or windows and you get a sea view. The beach was fairly clean, and a short swim out brought us to fish and corals, nice for snorkeling, a dip, or just lounging around. Repellent dispensers are placed along the beach, so use some or the sand flies will get you. If you're lucky, you might see turtles laying eggs or dugongs. I gave three stars because the resort had no umbrellas for guests to use in the rain. The restaurant manager also didn't seem very friendly or willing to serve guests, which made getting to the dining hall difficult.
