The power went out from afternoon until midnight on our third night, after we had already spent the first two nights without water. We were a family group of 17, including elderly people and children, staying for three nights. A staff member told us about the outage at first, but after that nobody followed up, answered our calls, or offered emergency help. In the cold, that lack of care was unacceptable, especially for the older guests and kids. We wouldn't recommend this guesthouse.

For several hours, guests had to handle the outage alone, with no guidance, help, or reassurance. In a cold, remote area like Kundasang, that level of neglect is unacceptable. Returning a security deposit doesn't change the fact that we were left without electricity or proper lighting, couldn't reach anyone, and received no emergency support. These were safety and responsibility issues, not small inconveniences. Your claim that emergency lighting worked in the rooms and common areas is untrue. The solar or emergency lights were only outside. Inside our rooms it was completely dark, with no emergency lights or backup lamps. Saying otherwise misrepresents what guests experienced. You also said staff stayed on-site and monitored the situation. That isn't what happened. Around 9 p.m., one staff member briefly told us the power was out and then disappeared. Nobody could be reached after that, and no further updates or assistance came, despite elderly guests and children being there in the cold. The explanation that calls went unanswered because the reception phone had lost power isn't a valid excuse. Emergency support can't depend on one powered landline. We were given no mobile contact, there was no staff member available to help, and no contingency plan was explained. That shows a serious lack of emergency preparation and concern for guest safety. This stay exposed serious gaps in how emergencies and guest safety are handled. Any property unable to meet its basic duty of care should review its operations to help prevent this happening to other guests.

The views across Kundasang are beautiful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were really helpful with suggestions for things to do around Kundasang. I'd recommend staying here.

We were 17 relatives, with elderly family members and children, staying three nights, and it was a really poor experience. The first problem was no water on the second night. Then on the third night, the electricity was out from afternoon until midnight. Someone from staff initially came to tell us about the outage, but there was no follow-up or emergency help afterward, and our calls weren't answered. In the cold weather, that level of responsibility was unacceptable. It wasn't worth the price, and I strongly wouldn't recommend it.

With 17 family members, we spent three nights at this guesthouse. The water was unavailable on both the first and second nights, then the electricity failed on the third day and stayed off from afternoon to midnight. A staff member told us it should be fixed soon, but we heard nothing more. Calls went unanswered, and there was no emergency help or alternative offered. Having to take cold showers and sit through the cold was especially hard for the elderly people and children in our group. For the price, I don't recommend it.
