The price didn’t feel justified, and the service was poor. I called many times without anyone answering. They first gave us a different room, then told us to leave it and switch again. In the room there was no air-conditioner remote, mineral water, hair dryer, kettle, or iron. I won’t stay here again. This was a low standard for an OYO hotel.

We found the location handy for travelling to Kinabatangan River for the river cruise. The room was clean, and everything matched the description. The owner was kind and keen to help, so my friends and I were very happy with our stay at OYO 90104 Lady Anne Hotel!

I paid only RM27 a night, so I can’t complain too much about the room being different from the photos and not up to OYO standards. I thought about extending for a little more, but my first impression put me off. Room 110 was dirty and smelled bad, with baby cockroaches and ants. Cleanliness matters a lot to me. I arrived around 9am, and Arice told me to return at 2pm for check-in, which was understandable. I got food, came back around 10ish and hoped to wait in the lobby, but he said it had to be closed because nobody was there to attend it. At 1pm it was still locked, and at 2pm it was still locked too. I called the number on the door, and only then did he come down, open up, and check us in. I don’t know if a room wasn’t ready earlier or if he just didn’t want to check us in. Some hotels are more considerate. He didn’t seem helpful and didn’t offer to carry our luggage. That night I went downstairs to collect food I’d ordered through Grab. A suspicious boy with a knife came up to talk to me about his issue. He knew my room number and said he was staying in 102. It was frightening, especially since I was there with my child. I was glad we only stayed one night and didn’t extend.

We arrived around 9pm and found no one at the hotel. The reception was chained shut, and it looked as if nobody had been there for a while. We waited two hours and tried calling OYO, since the hotel hadn’t given us a contact number. The information we’d been given was misleading, and the hotel we booked was actually closed for service. How could this happen, and can we get our money back?
