The Mark's Lodge

For a one-night visit, this place was better than I expected. The room was fine and the facilities were great for the money. The staff member who welcomed us was very friendly, and the same person was there at checkout, which went smoothly.

The staff were kind, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay 🤝🙇🏻‍♂️. Our clean, attractive room had a wooden floor, a big window, hot water, and AC. The thick blanket was nice, and the flush wasn’t too loud. We could see the sunrise from the window, which felt romantic 🌅. Guests can also borrow an umbrella when it rains. The price was reasonable, and there are lots of shops, restaurants, a mini laundry service, and a hypermarket very close by. A few drawbacks: hotel laundry at night costs extra and is pretty expensive if you need it done quickly. There’s no parking service, though luckily not many people parked in front overnight. The hairdryer wasn’t very strong, and the bathroom has no vent to draw out steam when bathing.

The steak was excellent, and the waiters were so friendly and polite that they took the dining experience from good to great. We’ll definitely come back for steak, though you’ll want a heavy wallet, if you know what I mean.

The little cafe inside the hotel didn’t open at all during my five-day stay, but that wasn’t a big issue since there are several restaurants and pubs within walking distance. It’s a cozy, comfortable budget hotel with friendly staff and an affordable price. There’s no elevator. I was satisfied with the service and what I paid.
