Sunway Hotel Seberang Jaya

We were only about a three-minute walk from the hospital, which was so convenient. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bed, bathroom, and other facilities all met our needs. The service was very good too. A special thanks to receptionist Mr Sherrmen, who was kind and helpful and took great care of us. I really love this hotel, one of the best in Penang!

I really loved your teh tarik. The room was nice, although the body wash and shampoo seemed to be the same liquid. We paid RM371 on arrival for a twin-bed deluxe room after calling the receptionist directly, even though the booking rate had been only a little over RM200. We also tried the RM45 breakfast the next morning. It wasn't at the international standard the receptionist had claimed, and the selection was limited compared with the Light hotel buffet. From 6:30 to 10 am, Halik was the only waiter clearing guests' empty dishes, while our plates piled up. He seemed unable to keep up, walking back and forth nonstop.

The blanket had a slightly musty smell. We also had a connecting room, and late at night the person next door, whom we didn't know, called a friend loudly and sang, so it was noisy. We got the stay free with our medical check-up booking at Sunway Hospital, so we didn't have much to complain about. Overall, it was pretty good.

The buffet breakfast was a letdown: limited options for an “international” buffet, slow refills, and food that looked unappealing. I also spotted baby cockroaches by the buffet line on a couple of mornings. Apart from that, I had a pleasant stay from Dec 10-14. The location was great, and the room was clean and well maintained for an old hotel.
