The park next door was handy for a walk or run, and it's lit at night. There are food stalls in the car park and a newly built piblic toilet. For more food options, walk farther into the park to just before the pedestrian tunnel under the road. Stairs on the right lead to more stalls along the side. There's also a Chinese restaurant across the tunnel, and if you walk the whole park, which isn't long, you'll find ponds and a playground. Across the main road are more food stalls; a few shops away there's a 7-11, an electronics shop and a huge three-storey fabric shop. The rooms are reasonably priced and clean, but ours had a slight musty smell. We had a queen plus single room, and the luggage rack only fit one bag. There's room for another rack, which would help for three people. The bathroom was clean, with a shower door that kept the rest of it dry, but both the room and sink are small, with nowhere to put toiletries. Shelves on either side of the mirror would make a difference. You get bottled water, mugs and three coffee sachets, but no tea. The windows aren't double glazed, so traffic can be heard, though Segamat is a quiet town. Outside the room there's a shared ironing board and a large water dispenser with hot, cold and room-temperature settings, which impressed me. I also saw staff cleaning the shared areas early in the morning, including the five foot way outside the hotel.
