I booked this hotel because Borneo Speedy, the dive center, is right below it, which was convenient since I came to Semporna just to dive. I had a VIP room with a sea view, and there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The staff were good too. Go in expecting a two-star hotel, nothing more, and it was a good stay. They should pay more attention to cleaning the walls, ceiling, and curtains.

The rooms are fairly spacious and reasonably clean. The bathroom could be cleaner, and the showerhead should be cleaned when it gets dirty.

The lobby smells bad, with at least five or six cats kept in cages inside. Our room wasn't clean either. We lost a room card and were charged RM50 for a replacement. The next day, before going island hopping, we left our card at the lobby. When we returned, they handed us what looked like the same card, in the old plastic wrapping from the one we'd lost. My wife asked if it was our lost card, but they said no, it was the spare room card. I don't think the staff were honest with us.

The location is great, near the sea, with a good view, and the price is a little high but still worth it for the spot. The room is cramped, with barely enough space for a praying mat. The TV was broken and couldn't play anything. The toilet was the other letdown: the bidet didn't work, and using it sounded like a construction site.

I stayed here for a Sipadan dive trip booked through a tour company. The rooms are simple but comfortable, and everything worked well. Restaurants are within walking distance, and the hotel is close to the dive shop. The sea view is great too.
