Hotel M9 Sepang KLIA & KLIA 2

The room smelled so strongly of smoke that I had trouble breathing, even though I'd booked a non-smoking room. I told the receptionist, but all they did was give me a scented spray that covered the smell for a few minutes. There were also ants crawling on the bed and elsewhere when I first went in.

We stayed for one night. The room was very clean, the staff were kind, and the room supplies, soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and bath towels, were more than enough for a night. There was no window, but that wasn't a big issue for such a short stay. Getting around was the real problem. The location is awful for taxis: they often won't come, and getting one from the hotel is almost impossible, with 99% of drivers declining or refusing. Others charge three or four times more. The hotel has no shuttle bus either. Soundproofing is poor, the elevator doors make a very loud, unpleasant noise whenever they open, and the bathroom ventilation is noisy too.

The hotel is close to a main road or highway, so traffic noise carried on all night and made it hard to get the good night's sleep I wanted before morning. If you're sensitive to noise or want a quiet setting, I wouldn't recommend it. It was also a bit difficult to get a Grab or taxi in the morning.

The front desk staff handled my late check-in really well. The room was spacious, and I had a great stay. It takes about 15-20 minutes to get to KLIA 1.
