For an affordable stay, this place gave me much more than I expected. The room was on the small side, but the layout made it comfortable. Everything looked fresh and carefully kept, and the cleanliness really stood out. The facilities covered what I needed, with nothing feeling worn out. It came across like a hotel with a much higher rating. I’d happily stay again and recommend it.

We stayed one night at SS Hotel Seremban in September 2025 and were sorry to leave. The room was tidy, nicely laid out and had the basic essentials and toiletries; there’s also a water dispenser in the shared area. The hotel has recently been renovated, and the receptionists were polite and helpful. Its location is convenient, though parking was tricky when two festivals were on at the same time and it was peak dinner hour. The late checkout charge was RM10 or RM15 an hour, if I remember right, and felt fair, especially after our half marathon. A pleasant stay, and it deserves more recognition.

There’s no dedicated parking, though finding a spot on the roadside wasn’t hard. The room was clean, roomy and had what we needed, including an iron and ironing board. Good value, and a great stay.

The room was only RM100 for the Standard on my second night, after I spent the first night in the RM140 Superior. I arrived without a booking and had to check out twice. Both mornings I went for breakfast and returned around 11:30 a.m., before the noon checkout time, to find my access card had stopped working. There was nobody at reception, so I climbed the stairs since there’s no lift, then found a housekeeper who let me in with his card. It happened both times, which made it seem like access was being cut off early on purpose. I can’t see why they’d do that, since it only invites a bad review. I was looking forward to this hotel as my first stop in Malaysia, but the stay was disappointing. The main concern was the naphthalene used in the rooms. It’s classified as a possible human carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer and has other health risks. Products containing it have been banned in the European Union since 2008, and it’s also banned in the UK, New Zealand and China. The fact that it can be bought legally in Malaysia doesn’t make it safe. Floors were also mopped with a highly concentrated bactericide that smelled like bleach. Even with the stairwell windows open, the whole hotel smelled of it late in the morning after mopping. That concentration seemed excessive to me; water should be enough, since guests aren’t licking or crawling on the floors. These products can also contain endocrine disruptors. After checking out, I sat on a sofa in reception for a couple of hours before heading to my next hotel. The receptionist went outside by the entrance, left the door open while the AC was running, and started smoking; the smoke came into reception. I closed the door, but he opened it again. Once he’d finished, he watched videos on his phone and called friends, saying, “Happy Deepavali, bro!” I understand that he needed to listen to work voice messages from his two managers, a man and a woman, but entertainment videos and personal calls in the workplace felt unprofessional and made it hard to focus while I was working on my laptop. Reception was often unmanned too. I saw a woman come in and wait a while to speak to someone, then leave because no staff appeared.

I’d booked for the wrong month by mistake, but Ruben at reception was friendly and helped sort it out so I could stay at SS hotel on the right dates 😁 The room was really nice and clean, and both Ruben and the owner were very welcoming. A great place to stay in Seremban 😊💙
