The room was cramped even though I booked a King size bedroom. At around MYR100 to 120, they only provide towels, mineral water, and two small soaps, which felt ridiculous. I never knew living standards in a small town like Sibu had become so high. I came to Sibu for the second time, and this River Park Hotel Sibu was even worse than my previous stay at nearby Kawan Hotel. I’d read reviews saying it was clean, the bed and pillow were comfortable, and the location was convenient, but that wasn’t really the case. In the middle of the night I took a pillow to reception to complain. The pillows in the room were either too soft and thin or too hard and thick, and I couldn’t sleep until nearly 1 a.m. There are lots of karaoke places and pubs around the hotel, and the windows don’t block sound well. I could hear noise through the night, until 2 or 3 a.m.

The hot shower was really good, and the location is right opposite the park. The pillows were too hard for me, and it got a little noisy at night.

The rooms are quite big and don’t feel uncomfortable. Some have no windows, just a little one that looks onto the stairs.

I stayed one night in a pretty decent room with the basic necessities. The bed was comfy and there was good lighting, though there’s no fridge. The location’s a bit far from most main attractions and good places to eat. If you just want a simple room for sleeping, you could consider this hotel. 🥰
