Galaxy Hotel

It’s all right if you just need somewhere to sleep or get ready for a short stay, but don’t count on much comfort or convenience. There’s almost nothing close by beyond one restaurant next door, and I’m not even sure the hotel café is open. The room had no tissues, the toothbrush hurt my gums, and the shampoo and body wash weren’t good either. There’s plenty of room for improvement.

The room was spacious, maybe 8/10 for that, but I wouldn’t stay here again. There was tissue stuffed into a hole in the room door, and I kept seeing red marks around the room. I’d booked breakfast, then was told at the last minute when I arrived that the chef wasn’t around. The place feels dodgy.

I was on the first floor and barely slept. The soundproofing is really poor, with shouting in the corridor, doors slamming, and traffic noise all coming through. The room was clean and spacious, and the small bathroom had good water temperature and pressure. Still, I wouldn’t pick this place again.

There’s a water dispenser by the lift lobby, plenty of parking in the basement and around the hotel, and you can borrow a hair dryer from reception. The towels, toothbrush, shampoo, body soap, room sleeper and coffee were all good. Shower pressure and hot water were very good too. It’s a three-star hotel, so keep expectations sensible, but the place was very clean and the staff were lovely. Highly recommended, I’d come back.
