New Wave Shah Alam

This was my first hotel after arriving in Malaysia, and where I spent my first night here. The room was very clean, though its facilities felt a bit dated. Staff were really friendly, and it was good value for the money. Being allowed to smoke in the room helped me feel less homesick.

We booked two rooms for eight people, but when we arrived, we were told there were none available. They sent us to another branch in Putra Height, where only one room was free, then told us to go to USJ for the other. Very disappointing, and the staff weren't friendly at all.

Please pay attention to the room service. The first thing I saw when I opened the bathroom door was a dead cockroach. Worst hotel I've stayed in so far.

I paid for my booking through agoda, but on arrival the receptionist said the hotel was full and told me to get a refund from agoda, even though agoda doesn't offer one. After a long discussion, he suddenly found a room for me, but it was very dirty. The window was broken, too. If you need an iron, you have to go upstairs or downstairs to find one, since they don't have one on every floor.
