Kamalodge Taiping

For a hotel that's considered new in this part of Taiping, the condition was a surprise. The pool was murky and smelly, and the car park smelled of urine. It looked so dirty that not even the kids wanted to swim. The breakfast was okay, though nothing special. The reception area was warm, with no real air conditioning, and there was no pleasant scent when entering. Inside the room, the floor was coming loose and the lighting was poor, with some LED bulbs dimmer than others. The carpets at the room entrances were dirty, and there was no AC in the corridors or by the lift. Room service was just okay. Food I ordered arrived quickly, but after I left the plate outside my door, it stayed there for both days I was there. I hadn't requested room cleaning, but surely a cleaner could have picked up the plate. The room cost around 200 a night including facilities, which made the state of things especially disappointing. I was very dissatisfied, and I don't think the hotel will last long like this.

The stay was comfortable and enjoyable, with a peaceful nature feel. It's a little tucked away from town and the food outlets, but the setting is quiet. A few bulbs weren't working and the floor needs repairs. Some minor maintenance would make this an even nicer place to stay.

We were contacted on WhatsApp before arriving, and the service stayed friendly throughout. The place is quiet and somewhat secluded, yet a short walk from the war cemetery, botanical gardens, and lake gardens. Good value for money. Our executive room comfortably fitted three adults, with one large bed and one single, and included breakfast for three from 7:00am to 10:00am. Breakfast was decent. The beds were comfortable enough and the room was reasonably clean. Free guest parking is available, though spaces are limited. During my stay in Nov 2025 the pool was being renovated. My one complaint was that an event in the ballroom could be heard from my room at night. All in all, I'd recommend staying here.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were kind and helpful. I was here one night for a meeting and had a very pleasant stay. The natural scenery, especially around sunset, was beautiful and calming. Thanks for the great hospitality.
