Pearl Inn

We chose the Executive Quadruple Room on Agoda because the listing said garden view and showed photos facing the lake. What we got looked out onto the car park instead. No garden or lake, just cars. That view was part of what we paid for, not an extra request. I showed the receptionist the Agoda listing, but he kept denying it and said we hadn’t asked for a view. It was frustrating because the booking description and photos made it clear. The advertising felt misleading, and the customer service was terrible. If you’re booking Pearl Inn, Taiping for the view, don’t count on getting what’s pictured.

The deposit caught me by surprise because nobody had told me about it before I arrived. On my second check-in, the young receptionist was rude and wouldn’t accommodate me. I had no cash, but offered to pay by QR. She still told me to leave the hotel and get cash, even though I was in a rush and urgently needed the restroom. A different staff member the previous night had been more understanding, which made the contrast frustrating. I had to go out, make an online transaction, and then wait days for the deposit to be returned. The lack of flexibility and empathy was shocking. This inconsistent service and poor customer care at Pearl Inn Hotel in Taiping have made me hesitant to return. I hope management addresses it.

Right across from the lake, and the room was clean. Breakfast was included and worth the price. The staff were excellent too. I’ll definitely come back.

Another hotel unexpectedly cancelled on me, so I ended up staying here. The manager and staff were nice, and I found the room clean and simple, with everything working. It was enough for my stay. Breakfast was included, which was a surprise. Thanks.
