Dear Dino House

I had a really disappointing stay. The bedsheets were dirty enough to irritate my skin, and the heater in the downstairs room didn’t work. There was also a power trip at one point, along with no water. The pots were rusty and the kettle was greasy.

The location was great, just a five-minute walk to food, and the covered car porch fits four cars. The bungalow was clean, tidy, and stocked with plenty of kitchen hardware, which worked well for a big family. My ground-floor couple room, though, was cramped and stuffy, with no clothes hanger or place to hang things. Its window had no mosquito net or grill and couldn’t be opened. The pump outside our room was noisy when people showered upstairs. Internet was weak on the ground floor, and I couldn’t make phone calls from inside the house.

The host was friendly, helpful, and quick to respond. Since there’s no 24-hour counter, it’s best to arrive at 3pm or message ahead to arrange another time. The bungalow is in a quiet area, about a 10-minute walk from the main road. I booked a triple-sharing room for two nights. The place felt new, clean, and spacious, with strong Wi-Fi, sheltered parking, and large windows fitted with custom nets so you can enjoy the breeze without pests. There are nine rooms in total, and you can book one room or the whole three-storey house.

The house stayed really cool, around 20 degrees or even less all day, and it was big enough that our group of about 10 still had plenty of room. My sister booked it for a few days. We put three cars in the porch, with space left over on the right where we set up the BBQ things. The owner or agent also lent us two motorbikes to ride around the taman. There are two living areas, one just inside the entrance with a big TV, at least 42 inches, and three couches, then another with a karaoke set and a large dining table, followed by the kitchen. The building has four floors, from ground level through the third floor, and I’m not sure how many rooms there are, maybe at least 10. Some floors also have a dining area or kitchen at the end. One kitchen has a winding staircase down to the ground floor near the main entrance. The front doors are unusual and open in two different ways. One is a regular pair of doors you push open, and the other slides and folds away so the whole living room can be opened up for fresh air. Hard to explain, haha.
