Hotel Sentral Seaview @ Beachfront

The hallway carpets were filthy and smelled awful, and our room's fridge was empty despite the description saying there would be a minibar. Breakfast was terrible. The selection seemed aimed only at local tastes, with no consideration for international guests, and several people looked at it and chose not to eat. There wasn't even cheese. The tea and coffee were bad too. It was a very poor experience, and I don't recommend this hotel at all. 👎🏼

The beach is a nice place for kids to play, and the pools work well for families: the kids' pool is okay and the adult pool is quite spacious. Our room and bathroom were clean, with a side sea view from the balcony, cold AC, good water pressure, and the basic amenities we needed. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast didn't have a huge selection, but the nasi lemak and kueyteow goreng tasted good, and there was enough to fill you up in the morning. For the nightly price, including breakfast, it felt worth the money. Kids' breakfast is only RM20 extra. I'd recommend this place if you're looking for an affordable hotel with a beach, pool, and breakfast.

We stayed about 10 days, and Mr. Ian, the operations executive, took great care of us and was very hospitable. The property is a little old, but they're upgrading the infrastructure. The shower was good, the air conditioning worked great, and breakfast included local delicacies and Western food. Step outside and there's a massive food court. For what we paid, it was really worth it. It's a lovely place to relax, eat well, and walk on the beach at low tide. Sunrise and sunset are wonderful, even from the balcony. I'll keep coming back. I'm posting this again because my previous review was removed. We had three rooms at Hotel Sentral Seaview Penang, and the condition was unacceptable. The bedsheets and air conditioner were dusty, and the children's play tent was smelly and dirty. My child developed flu symptoms after using it. We had to call housekeeping several times to replace floor sheets and deal with these problems. The water heater didn't work, and our complaints about the noise were ignored. Breakfast choices were very limited, and items weren't replenished. The rooms, service, and facilities were poorly maintained overall. I can't recommend this hotel for families.
