OYO 89619 De Choice Hotel

The shower and toilet were acceptable, but I was still very disappointed. The room was musty and old, and it didn’t look anything like the photos online. One room had a broken lock, while water leaked from the air conditioner in another. I’d strongly advise against choosing this place for a vacation.

The toilet was the big letdown: the bowl was yellowish, and both the floor and walls were so dirty it was disgusting. Management really needs to supervise the cleaning and check the rooms and bathrooms regularly. The hotel has an old-fashioned feel, which I didn’t mind. The lobby was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There’s customer parking, and it’s in the city center with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Our room was spacious, quite clean, and had a fresh, pleasant smell. The towels and sheets were clean enough, but they were in very old condition.

The biggest trouble came one day when the water supply stopped. De Choice doesn’t seem to have tanks like the other places, so there was no shower, toilet flushing, or anything else. My room was large and quiet. The internet was only so-so. The bed was two old mattresses stacked together, though the linen was reasonably clean, as were the towels. The bathroom water was lukewarm.

I booked at the last minute and didn’t have the energy to make a fuss, but hopefully management will take note. The toilet had no tissue, the sink was moldy, and the shower was broken. The air conditioning was noisy and didn’t cool the room. Cleanliness was very poor.
