Japamala Resort

The boat transfer charges are expensive, but the service was good and the staff were easy to approach. Our room was spotless and was made up twice. I liked the cute note they left each day after cleaning. We had a lovely time close to nature.

The cocktail hour came with a breathtaking view, and the grilled seafood was really fresh. My family and I had an amazing stay at Japamala. The staff gave us a basket of refreshments for our island hopping trip, and we loved the welcome quote left in our rooms. The service from the humble staff was top notch. Thank you for everything.

The rooms are great, and it’s a cute hotel right along Tioman beach. But the beach has a lot of reef, so it’s difficult to enjoy swimming there, and the pool wasn’t working. The stairs and infrastructure are too old, and some of the steps to the rooms could be dangerous. The food was so-so and very expensive, at least $150 per day for two people.

We spent our honeymoon at Japamala Resort on Tioman Island, and it felt like a dream. It’s secluded, private, and luxurious, with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. We loved exploring the island’s natural beauty, hiking its lush trails, and snorkeling in clear water. The food was fresh and full of flavor, especially at the Malaysian restaurant, where we enjoyed the authentic dishes. Each morning began with a delicious included breakfast, and we’d wind down with sunset drinks overlooking the stunning ocean. From the moment we arrived, the team went above and beyond to make our stay special. Every detail felt thoughtfully planned, and we can’t wait to return!
