The area beneath the dragon horn is absolutely beautiful, and there’s so much island and Malaysian history to learn from the wonderful, friendly hosts. Our simple room had a great vibe, and we stayed in the village of mukut. There are quite a few cats that hang around outside the room. Getting to the dock of mukut was difficult, but Sam & Din were really helpful arranging boats to get us to our next stop. The effort was worth it, since this is definitely the most beautiful part of the island. An incredible experience, and I’ll come back someday.

The people are super friendly, the surroundings are beautiful, and the atmosphere is relaxed. It’s a great place to spend a few days away from the hustle and bustle. You can go trekking too, with the trail starting just above the chalets.
