The Barat Tioman Beach Resort

I hadn’t been to Tioman in 40 years, and wow, it’s changed. It used to be a quiet fishing village with only generators and boats, but now it’s a popular tourist spot with proper resorts and ferries. I spent 3 days and 2 nights at The Barat Tioman Resort and loved the relaxing, peaceful feel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, and I liked the voucher system for meals instead of a buffet. We got 2 breakfast vouchers, 1 for lunch, 1 for dinner, and 1 for the BBQ dinner, which worked like cash toward anything on the menu, set meals or à la carte. I prefer this way because there’s less food waste and you can order what you actually like. Thanks to William island paradise for recommending The Barat Tioman Resort and helping with the booking. The quiet beach let me rest all day and reset my mind before going back to work next week. My kid enjoyed playing on the beach and using the free indoor games. Nature helped make it so peaceful: no extreme heat or cold, just complete stillness. We’re surrounded by activities at home and work, so I recommend this beach if you want mental peace and a reset without too much to do. The one thing to improve is the road transfer cost from tekek to the hotel. It was RM 160 for two adults and one child. The hotel should consider a better price or waiving that cost to attract more customers. Thanks, Prabhunath

The buffet meals included in our package were good and filling, and Tioman has plenty to do beyond diving, from snorkeling and cycling around the village to hiking to a nearby waterfall. My friend and I stayed at Barat Tioman and found our room clean and comfortable. It was close to our dive centre, so getting back and forth between dives was easy, and because it faced the sea we could hang our wet gear right outside. Barat Dive Centre is on site. The team there was organized, professional, and friendly, and I’d recommend diving with them. After the busy pace of city life, Barat Tioman was a calm, convenient place to stay. I’d recommend it to people visiting Tioman.

The food was delicious each day, full of flavour and nicely presented, and the whole stay felt well looked after. Our room was roomy, very clean, and comfortable enough to properly relax in. The staff were helpful and so friendly from the minute we arrived. We absolutely loved our time at Barat Tioman Resort. A great choice for comfort, good service, and an island feel.
