Berndt is such a kind, helpful owner. He helps visitors book buses and trips, and Rinalda serves a wonderful breakfast with love. The rooms and toilets were super clean, and it felt very safe. There’s a billiards table, a small shop outside and a fully equipped kitchen. We had a great barbecue with the other guests and loads of fun. It’s centrally located, with a breathtaking view from the terrace and birds singing in the morning. Perfect for my yoga too.

The common areas have everything you need to cook, and there’s a market nearby where you can buy fresh fish. The rooms and shared facilities are clean, and the staff are attentive and make it easy to get there. Complexo Alemanha is good for solo travelers who want to meet people over breakfast, and for families wanting a few quiet days in Vilankulos. We went as a family in the low season and really enjoyed staying somewhere away from luxury lodges full of wealthy tourists. Those days felt very special. Thank you so much!

We stayed for 5 nights because this was the best price we could find in Vilanculos. It had everything we needed: a mosquito net, hot showers, WiFi and breakfast with bananas, boiled egg, bread, jam, chocolate spread and tea or coffee. We used the kitchen sometimes, but it could use a good clean, some new cooking utensils and a dishwashing sponge. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, and Bernd, the owner, helped us book seats on the early morning bus back to Maputo. The location was okay. It’s a bit of a walk to the beach, unless there’s a shortcut we didn’t know about. Odyssea and Baobab Beach Lodge are about 1.5km away for diving or snorkeling. There’s a big supermarket down the road and a South African shop a little further away. We didn’t eat out much to save money, and we didn’t see many options that appealed to us. We had a fine pizza nearby one night, and apparently the sushi place downstairs is very good. Both are very close. One thing to know: bring your own towel. We had travel towels, as all the other guests seemed to, so it was fine, but I hadn’t checked and every other place we’d stayed had provided towels.

When we arrived, we weren’t happy with the accommodation and chose not to stay. In good faith, I agreed with the complex owner that part of my reservation would be refunded. I never received the money, and for months they’ve ignored my messages and not returned my calls. I feel I was treated unfairly as a customer.
