Sophienhof Lodge

The proposal worked out, she said YES, and my fiancée and I now have a memory we'll always cherish. I had contacted Sophienhof while my girlfriend and I were travelling on her lifelong dream trip, an adventurous, romantic loop through Namibia and Botswana. I couldn't imagine a better time to ask her to marry me, so I asked the lodge to arrange a private sunset picnic for just the two of us. They set up a small, private game drive across their impressive property with a friendly, funny, and lovely guide. He brought us to a wonderfully peaceful spot, where a beautifully decorated table, delicious food, and champagne were waiting. The whole experience was so personal and special, shared with a lovely crew at a beautiful lodge. That's what Sophienhof can do. We're very grateful for our stay and thank everyone who helped. We recommend staying at Sophienhof someday.

Even in the dry season last November, this gorgeous place was still green and wonderfully serene. The staff were very kind and did their jobs perfectly. Highly recommended.

You can take a short hike up to the hilltop, and wildlife sometimes wanders right through the campground. There are game drives too. We camped on the lawn under the trees, where the bathrooms were very clean. Dinner is available, though overpriced, and there's a small pool for kids. The vibe felt a bit weird, but I can't really mark it down for that.

Sophienhof Lodge was so peaceful, the food was great, and the staff were very friendly. A special thanks to Willem, who suggested Dr Burger at Outjo and made an appointment for me when I was feeling a bit under the weather. He really went the extra mile for us. Highly recommend staying here!
