First Group Desert Rose

We had a wonderful stay right on the beach. The rooms were great, with lovely sea views, and the staff were friendly and provided great service.

A comfortable home away from home, with a lovely view and welcoming staff. Well worth visiting.

It took some effort to get there, but I was glad we made the trip. I loved the place and the small, quiet town. I've never felt so safe, especially in another country, though I can't speak for safety beyond my own experience. The service was splendid, and the staff were awesome.

The view from our apartment was unbelievable, and when we first arrived in December, everything looked amazing. The rooms were big, warm, and nice. James, I think that was his name, was the only security guard who did rounds to check that everything was okay. The others didn't. A few things really let the stay down. The advertised jacuzzi didn't heat up, and after we sat in it once, it was out of order the next day. The fridge freezer leaked, leaving the floor wet almost every morning. The beds were horrible, and I went home with a sore back. Sandboarding was offered, but the equipment was broken. I've never stayed in a holiday home without complimentary tea, coffee, shampoo, or conditioner. To me, those make guests feel welcome. Reception was never staffed. The cleaners came on their scheduled days, but after we left early for Swartkopmund one morning and returned around 3 or later, the apartment still hadn't been cleaned. We had kids who needed to eat, so we cleaned it ourselves. The cleaners arrived after 5 and said they were short staffed. The towels started out white and fluffy, but the replacements were old and torn. On another visit, they didn't make the beds at all, which nearly made me lose it. When I pay for a service, I expect the advertised amenities to be available. Things can happen, but at a holiday resort, they need to be ready for guests coming from all over.
