The staff and local patrons were super friendly, and the food was really good. There’s a short gravel stretch to reach the place from the paved road.

We had no booking when we arrived, but the reception lady was friendly and accommodating, and the price was very reasonable. Our cottage was spacious, quaint and homely, with a full kitchenette. From the property there was a lovely view of the dam, horses and farm geese. The garden felt like a little oasis, with beautiful features, and we enjoyed walking around it and through the campsite. We also took a swim in the pool and had a meal on the restaurant terrace. The bar was great, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The old historic prison has been turned into a restaurant, which was novel and full of character.
