The Langholm Hotel

I really enjoyed my stay. The food was amazing, and the staff were so friendly and made sure I felt at home.

The staff at Langholm Hotel were attentive and willing to help with anything we asked. From check-in onward, their warm, friendly manner made us feel at home. We had a comfortable, enjoyable stay and would happily recommend it.

The food was a mixed picture. The weekly menu has just seven main courses, then repeats the following week, but I had the best rump steak I’ve had in a long time, hands down the best in town. I’ve stayed at Langholm before, first around 2001, and sadly it seems to have seen better days. For the first three days there was no hot water in my room. The TV decoder had no signal for two days. I checked the cables behind the TV, but they were so dirty I left them alone. The internet was okay, though it’s assigned per room for the length of the stay. If you’re staying longer, they won’t update it unless you ask. The staff were friendly enough, but don’t expect them to go out of their way to fix problems. I have good memories of Langholm, and I’m writing this constructively in the hope they can improve and make guests happier. I know it’s not a five-star hotel, but they could do much better and return to their former glory.

The dinners were the highlight, wow, an excellent selection cooked just right, served quickly, and adjusted to suit your personal taste. Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, and the laundry service was quick and efficient. I highly recommend this hotel. Give Nic a call to book.
