Abi's Place

I arrived in Abuja around 22:00 on 23 December 2025 with a reservation I'd made through booking.com, only to hear from two people at the front desk that ABIS Hotel was full and had no record of it. Given the late hour and security concerns in the city, I expected an apology or at least an explanation. Neither came. To me, that showed a disregard for guests' safety and a lack of professionalism. I wouldn't consider ABIS Hotel safe or fit to run as a hospitality business in Nigeria, and I'd give it zero stars.

The restaurant food was great, and I appreciated that they considered people who don't like spicy pepper. My room was just fair, though, and housekeeping should improve. It didn't have basics like soap or body lotion, and I wasn't sure whether the tissue there had already been used. Seems like travelers have to bring their own slippers these days.

Being close to the airport makes Abis handy if you're waiting for an early morning or late night flight. The hotel has nice finishing and a bar out back, but management is poor. Unlike the competitor next door, there's no complimentary breakfast. I had to ask for every little thing, including a towel, tissue paper, and a teacup.

There's not much parking, which was the one issue I noticed. Otherwise, the staff were warm and courteous, the rooms were okay, and both room service and the kitchen were prompt. The food was good, and each room has a safe. I had a lovely stay.
