Assie Hotel

If you’re used to standard hotels, don’t go here or you’ll be frustrated. Your room stays dark until the big generator comes on at 8pm, and it only runs for four hours. That’s also when the AC and water heater work. I won’t even get into the state of the restroom 🚶🚶🚶🚶🚶🚶

The mattress foam was firm enough, but that was about the only decent part of the room. The sheets weren’t very clean, and my bathroom had a bad smell in the morning. Bring your own toilet paper, the rolls there were so small they’d barely clean sweat off your face. My shower didn’t work and there was no hot water, at least while I was there. Check that the bucket comes with a bailer, and that it doesn’t leak. The ACs barely ran, so without the fan you’d be sleeping in the heat. But the fan sounded like a generator, and the power kept fluctuating. They could also cut the power to your room without warning. Staff were quarrelsome too. My phone had a fault, so I couldn’t check the reviews before staying. It was a really bad experience.

The staff seemed confused, and there was no water, AC, or heater. We’d paid for executive rooms but were told there was no power, so they turned off all the ACs and heaters and we had to sleep with fans. They apologized after the first night, then things were even worse the second. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, not even a prisoner.

The location makes it easy to get around, and the staff at Assie Hotel were really warm. The room was beautifully designed and had that home away from home feel.
