Maxbe Continental Hotel

I stayed a few days and wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The smell and the water situation were both poor, and the place didn’t feel like a luxury hotel. I was moved through five rooms, and each one had either a water leak or an AC that wasn’t working properly. They don’t change the bed sheets, and maintenance overall is very poor. It felt more like a one-star motel.

MAXBE continental hotel is in the heart of independence Layout, in a quiet, private setting that gives you privacy. The rooms look great, with beautiful furniture and a lovely atmosphere. Service could be quicker, though. I had to wait quite a while for a towel to use on the bathroom floor. The elevator also doesn’t always stop at the floor you select. From the third floor, choosing ground level took me to the second floor instead. I don’t mind taking the stairs since I’m trying to lose belly fat, but management should look into the elevator. Wishing the hotel all the best.

The food was great, and the dining area is below the bar, almost underground. The hotel is calm and cosy, with attractive fittings and decent furniture, though it’s solid rather than spectacular. The bathroom door was slightly misaligned and didn’t fit properly. Prices seem fair for what you get in Enugu, but customer service was poor and the towels weren’t good. An okay stay overall.

The rooms were neat and comfortable, though this isn’t a large or especially fancy hotel. A standard room was N35,000, which didn’t feel too pricey. The food tasted good, but breakfast was a letdown: few choices, nothing interesting, and the trays weren’t laid out attractively. The bar seemed much nicer, even though neither my first nor second drink choice was available. The bathroom also needed a better clean. There were lots of stains and built-up dirt around the tub and sink, so the cleaners didn’t seem to do a good job in that part of the room.
