It’s peaceful but still close to nice places, and I’d recommend it for that. The service is top-notch, especially from Gift, the receptionist. She’s amazing: organized, polite, always smiling, and ready to help. The food was tasty too, not one bad meal for me. One small issue is Kelechi, who should do better at giving guests a good experience. The TV picture isn’t very clear either. Besides those things, I really recommend the place.

The standard room cost ₦43,000 a night. The area was calm and generally fine, and the atmosphere was cozy. The compound fits two cars easily, maybe three if squeezed in, though there’s enough parking outside if you don’t mind that. Breakfast for one person was included and brought to the room. There was tea, but no bottled water or other drinks in the room. Towels are limited to one a day, and they wouldn’t give me a replacement until the next day even if I stained one or washed my hair. The sheets had holes and weren’t white anymore, but they were clean, and I could smell the dry cleaning products. The curtains smelled dusty, as if they hadn’t been washed in a long time. If you have allergies, bring your medicine. If you forget, there are two pharmacies on Zenith Road toward the roundabout. Staff were a mixed bag: one of the men who helped with bags was very helpful, the minibar staff and one receptionist were amazing, and security was okay. I wish they wore name tags so I could give proper shout-outs. About the second receptionist, I’ll leave it there. When it rains, there are no umbrellas or anyone to help you to your car, so be ready to run, especially if dressed up. The roads flood quite a bit too. I don’t watch much TV, but African Magic is available if that’s your thing. The ambiance was nice and cozy. It wasn’t a bad stay, though a little more attention to guest comfort would make it much better.

Good service and a convenient location, though the rooms could use some updating. The air conditioning especially needs an upgrade.

The receptionist and other staff were lovely, courteous, and helpful. The hotel itself was a letdown: there was no properly working AC or TV, and the old bathroom had cracked tiles and mould. The furniture wasn't any better. This place needs a full overhaul.

The food was very good, room service too, and the room itself was impressively spacious. Once inside the hotel grounds, the place looked better than the surrounding area. But I wouldn't return to the Ikeja Galpin Suites, even though I'd gladly stay at the Victoria Island Galpin Suites, where the service is much better. If the same person or people own both Ikeja and Victoria Island Galpin hotels, the Ikeja staff and management could learn from the Victoria Island team. We stayed for 10 nights, and check-in was a frustrating start. We arrived at 1pm and were told our room needed cleaning, so we left our luggage and went into town. Two hours later it still wasn't ready, and we waited another 30 minutes. During the stay, the toilet cistern was often empty, so we had to fill a bucket from the shower to flush. The bathroom walls had holes, and the curtain rails and window ledges were thick with dust. The AC was so loud it woke us up repeatedly. I reported it to the front desk, but nothing was done. The area around the hotel isn't great, and some guests were hostile for no apparent reason, which made me question the clientele. Twice, people smoked marijuana in the outdoor lounge while I was trying to relax. The smell was strong, and the hotel staff let it continue.
