The Hardley Apartments

The first time I stayed, the service was good and the attendants were polite. The water pressure was strong, and the toilet was clean, though rusty in spots, possibly because of Lagos weather. The rooms could use more airing because of a damp smell. They also need better upkeep: some areas were dusty, surfaces were sticky, and the sheets and towels, although clean, were old and stained and should be replaced. I returned later and was very disappointed. The toilet was covered in mold, I could feel a current whenever I held the shower head, and hardly any hot water came from the tap. When I asked to change rooms, they said there were no clean sheets. I asked them to do it first thing in the morning before I needed to shower, but they still couldn't. They eventually moved me, only for me to find that none of the sockets worked. I'm not sure I'll go back.

The last time I stayed, I had to haul my suitcases up the stairs to the fourth floor because the elevator issue I’d encountered in 2020 seemed to have been ignored. The Queen room was dirty and dated, and I really regret staying there. It was shameful. The water was dirty too, and the shower was filthy and painfully slow. There was no soap or anything else in the bathroom, and the towel smelled stale. I can't believe how far this hotel and apartment suites have gone downhill. It feels like a cheap motel for knockoffs. It needs a major makeover.

The restaurant looks great, and the receptionist and service response were cool. The room, though, didn't match what I expected from the Victoria Island location, the brand name, or the price. The bedsheet was an issue, and the leather on the bed's headrest was peeling. That feels unprofessional. Seems more like a management problem, but it could get better.

The kitchen barely had any choice, just fish, with nothing else offered. The pool color looked weird, the surroundings smelled damp, and the elevators weren't working. Things had already gone wrong when I first got to my assigned room. The bed frame was peeling, so they moved me a couple of times. The room I eventually got was manageable, but the sheets still weren't good. I practically had to ask for a refund before the receptionist requested a replacement. The pictures online are definitely deceptive. I could go on and on.
