Vintano Hotel

The executive suite was spacious and comfortable, the hotel was well maintained, WiFi worked fine, and the facilities felt upscale. Staff were professional and attentive, especially at reception, the restaurant, and the rooftop, where the service came with genuine smiles. The location was great. Breakfast had several problems for me. The grape juice was far too sweet and concentrated, and there were no scrambled eggs or bread, even though not everyone wants yam, moin moi, or potatoes in the morning. The bacon was so dry and tough it tasted like leather. I also found the security process confusing. Guests hand over their phones and walk through the entrance metal detector, which repeatedly alarms, but nobody does a secondary sweep. Some larger guests use the exit to avoid screening altogether. Security should apply to everyone. There were also loud guests having meetings on the first floor, laughing and making silly jokes and noise that carried through the lobby. At breakfast, several women came down in nightwear or lingerie. It looked undignified, and some appeared to be there with male company. That was a major turnoff. A five-star hotel should require proper breakfast attire.

The biggest disappointment was being served expired yogurt at breakfast, especially when the hotel knows children will be eager to eat it. This was a family trip, and that really let us down. The rooms were clean and well put together, with quality materials and a luxurious feel. Some staff were good, though service overall was mixed, neither consistently terrible nor the best. Food was okay, but at that price I expected more. We had a few nice moments as well as some bad incidents.

The only real issue for me was the shower. The water was hardly ever hot, and I had to wait around 15 minutes for it to warm up. Apart from that, I enjoyed my two nights. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the test room was big and clean too. Service was great, especially at breakfast, and the Chinese restaurant had tasty options. The location is central in Lekki but still quiet and convenient for getting around. The hotel is beautiful, with a particularly good view from the fifth floor and roomy balconies. It was always breezy outside.

I paid 750k for three days, and it absolutely wasn't worth it. The food was very basic, with nothing memorable for that price, and customer service made the stay even more frustrating. They promised several times to move me to another room, but kept coming up with excuses. I had to follow up at least three times on complaints. They would apologize and then forget about them. I wouldn't recommend the hotel, especially for families with children. If you're thinking of staying, inspect everything carefully before paying. It isn't worth a blind buy. The rooms look attractive, but basic safety is a serious concern. There are sharp edges everywhere, the bathroom tiles were poorly done, and the windows open fully. There is no proper burglary prevention or fall protection. I understand the design choice, but safety shouldn't be compromised. The windows should be permanently locked. I raised this with management and was told the windows are meant to open. Opening them six floors above ground is extremely dangerous. I hope they address it before someone loses their life, whether through negligence or a deliberate act by someone vulnerable. This is beautiful nonsense.
