City Global Hotels Owerri

I moved here from another hotel and was pleased at first. The rooms were a good size, there weren’t annoying disturbances, and there was a pool for anyone who wanted to swim. I enjoyed my stay, though looking back, the service could be better.

Omo eeh, I’m so disappointed I can hardly put it into words. The room was filthy and smoky, with a strong foul smell, and the bed was full of bed bugs 🥵. The AC didn’t work, and everything felt outdated. Staff kept fighting and shouting in the corridor. They really need to renovate and replace some staff, because they weren’t professional at all.

The location is the one good thing about City Global, especially when you’ve just arrived in owerri. The rest was appalling, a total disappointment and a nightmarish stay. Rooms 110 and 113 both had problems, so we kept switching between them. Everything was falling apart: a door had no knob, drawers were coming apart, the towel rack was loose, and the intercom didn’t work. There were so many mosquitoes that I ended up going to another hotel. The rooms, staff, service, and even the outrageously expensive food all let us down. Maybe the photos show how the hotel used to be. From what I saw, hotels in Owerri seem focused on sex and nightlife, competition, and making money. If you want somewhere for relaxation, comfort, leisure, or scenery, Owerri hotels aren’t for you. Just stay a night for business and leave. Maybe a few meet standards, but the others don’t seem interested in making you happy.

We got a good discount after booking several rooms ahead for an event, and there’s also an option to reserve in advance. It’s a large hotel with a luxurious look to the fittings. The menu, room service, accommodation, and customer service were all top notch. There’s plenty of parking, and it’s near the PH express road, about a 10-15 minute drive from most fun spots.
