You can look right over Popoyo main break from here. There’s food and drinks, board rentals, and a beach view, plus cold Tonas and storage lockers. Surfers have showers, and there’s a pool table for anyone who doesn’t surf.

If you’re a surfer who just wants to focus on the waves and isn’t looking for a hostel that runs events every day, this is the spot. It’s right at popoyo reef, and the restaurant becomes a popular hangout after surfing. The owners and staff are incredibly kind and really try to make you feel at home. I didn’t want to leave, so I came back haha. Best surf hostel I’ve stayed at.

We had a terrible time renting boards here. Maybe the bar is good, but don’t come for board rentals. The board was awful, and one broke just 15 minutes after I got in the water. You could tell the quality was poor.

The view is nice, but the 'bartenders' were sly. They wouldn’t pour the drinks in front of me, and they overcharged my whole bill. When I objected, they just shrugged and wouldn’t budge.

Finca Popoyo has a spectacular view, especially for sunsets and watching surfers, and it’s a great local place to catch some good surfing. The rooms are perfectly quiet and have air conditioning, so I slept well. The food was delicious, especially the fantastic breakfasts with excellent morning coffee. The staff were wonderful and made me feel welcome. Highly recommended!
