The dorms are simple but have what you need, and there’s plenty of outdoor space to hang towels and swimsuits to dry. There are so many shaded spots and hammocks that it’s easy to find somewhere comfortable to relax. The beachfront location is incredible, and the staff are very friendly. Carlas Yoga Lessons were amazing, too. I’ll definitely be back!

My only complaint was about the surf lessons. As a first-timer, I didn’t get much useful help from my instructor, probably because of the limited English, and the only advice was “Get on the board.” I found better tips on YouTube. Even so, I’d wholeheartedly recommend solid surf and hope to return. The staff were amazing, helpful, and friendly, and Marta made the best food we had anywhere in central America, with delicious meals every day. The quiet, family-friendly atmosphere suited us well with our 7-month-old baby, who had lots of room to explore and staff who were happy to help entertain our kid. The location is beautiful, and there’s a nice selection of surfboards, including good options for beginners.

Yesner, the manager, is incredibly kind and makes sure you have what you need. There’s fun surf right outside and the atmosphere is amazing. This is one of my favourite hostels I’ve ever stayed at.

We liked solid surf so much that we came back a week after checking out. It’s right beside the sea, which is ideal for surfing, and the facilities are great for relaxing. The staff were always kind and helpful.

Yesner, Martha, and Luis were so friendly and welcoming, as were the volunteers staying on the property. I had a great time in El Transito with Solid Surf.
