La Posada del Sol

The pool was a highlight, with lots of room to enjoy it. We came from North Carolina for a week with my family, and the welcoming, respectful staff were always sweet and quick to respond when we needed something. We had such a great vacation that we've decided to come back in November and stay for several weeks.

The hotel is only a few minutes on foot from the main square, and the pool was spacious and very clean. There’s also a table tennis table. We enjoyed our stay and would come back. The shower room was roomy, with strong water pressure and plenty of hot water. Staff were friendly, and breakfast was fine. The restaurant next door is well worth a visit for its excellent-value asado. We arrived by public bus from San Juan del Sur, which let us off at Granada’s bus station. Google Maps suggested lanes that weren’t really suitable for walking, so we took a taxi instead. It was inexpensive and easier, and I’d recommend getting one from the station. Our room was large and had a small kitchen area, but it wasn’t very practical: there was a cooker with no gas and no utensils or cutlery. The refrigerator was a good size. The air conditioning worked well, though it was too noisy and cold to keep on overnight. Morning light came straight into the bedroom, so darker curtains would’ve helped. An eye mask did the job.

We had a clean, comfortable, spacious room upstairs, and the staff were cheerful and very kind. The garden is beautiful, and the location makes it easy to walk to lots of restaurants. You can arrange tours and activities at reception too. We had a great stay.
