D la Torre Hotel

We enjoyed our stay. It’s a nice place, and the parking was secure, though a bit tight.

The rooms are spacious, but ours smelled damp and had no ventilation. We knew there was no AC and hoped a fan would do, but the concrete building and metal roof trap the heat. Staff were around cleaning and keeping everything looking nice, though when we asked for extra towels because there was only one per room, we were told they were in the laundry. Dinner and breakfast tasted good, but the portions were small. It looks like a very nice hotel and felt safe, with parking available.

It’s clean, nicely decorated, and feels safe. The AC units are there, but none of the rooms have AC because, staff said, the owner isn’t interested in running them. That’s a shame. The little fan they provide doesn’t help enough, and by around 7 AM, when the sun came up, our room was so hot.

The staff were nice and did their best to meet our needs. There’s 24/7 security, gated parking, and they offer designated safe taxis plus an airport shuttle. Breakfast and dinner are included in the price. Our double room was huge, with a nice bathroom and a closet that had an iron and ironing board. The hotel has a good concept, but it still feels unfinished, and many amenities listed on the website weren’t actually available. It’s in a very dangerous part of the city, so be careful and don’t walk beyond the gates. There’s no AC in the rooms or other areas, and the small fans leave it hot and humid. I had to ask for an extra fan. There was no fridge or coffee brewer in the room. The pool and gym are really small. They charged a little extra for three people but gave us the same double room. There aren’t suites for three or four, or extra beds or sofa sleepers, just single or double rooms.
