Hotel Brandt Ejecutivo Colonial Los Robles

We spent the whole night trapped in our room, my girlfriend, who’s local to Nicaragua, and I waiting with a baseball bat while someone tried the door five times. There was no way out through the window, and we didn’t feel we could leave the hotel. The first attempt came around midnight on our second night; the safety latch held. At 1:30 a.m., someone tried again. When we went out after the people had gone upstairs, the front desk worker was nowhere around, every downstairs room was open, and someone with a master key was ransacking the place. It continued for six hours, until the morning shift arrived. We got no sleep while people terrorized the hotel and nobody stopped them. The front desk was supposedly staffed 24/7, but people partied in the lobby all night when they weren’t trying to get into rooms. Don’t expect to sleep. I sent several complaints and got no response. For the price, this was completely unacceptable. Don’t stay here, it’s dangerous and a waste of money.

For the location, this seemed like the best accommodation around. The air conditioning worked, there was hot water, and breakfast was good.

The rooms are roomy and have both air conditioning and fans, and breakfast comes with the stay. It’s clean, comfortable, and pleasant overall. There’s no pool or gym, though, and the TVs are a little small. Wi-Fi coverage and speed could be better too.

I’d had a good stay here before, so I booked again more than a month ahead. When I arrived for that reservation, they said they didn’t have a room for me. It left a bad taste, and I won’t stay there again.
