Marias Bed & Breakfast

At $67 a night, I expected more and probably wouldn’t return. If it had cost $40, I’d have rated it quite differently. I’d put it at 3.5 if that were an option, so I rounded up to 4. With attention to a few things, it could easily be a 5-star place. The whole hotel and our room were VERY clean, the beds were comfortable, and the AC worked perfectly, which was nice during the warm part of the day. The room was a comfortable size, though not well insulated. On weekends you’ll hear local bars, but we didn’t have trouble hearing the staff set up breakfast. The location is central and good, not far from the main square, and we used the secure parking behind the gate. Hot water was a real issue. My wife loves a hot shower, and mine was only warm at best, too cold for her. The Wi-Fi came and went, so we used mobile data for part of our stay. There were tiny ants wandering the floors. That wasn’t a big deal, but at this price I expect more. The towels were clean but thin, and the bath towels were too small for what I’d expect at a cheaper hotel. Breakfast was simple but good. The coffee was average, and I expected better in a coffee-growing area.

Right in the center of the city, this is a charming place with excellent service and a generous breakfast. Special thanks to Leana, who was so kind and welcoming that she made us feel at home.

I loved the cozy, clean room and the cold A/C. Breakfast was included, and I stayed for three nights. 👌🏻
