Hostal Casa Mauro

The hostel is an easy walk from the town where you arrive after getting off the ferry, so getting around was simple. We stayed two days, and everything went smoothly, including renting a motorcycle. My private room had its own bathroom and was great. Anthonio was really kind and helped us a lot. One of the best hostels we stayed at during our trip in Nicaragua. Thanks for everything :)

A cozy, simple place with a nice owner. We had a double room and found it good. The ferry terminal and town are about a 10-minute walk away. There wasn't warm water in the shower.

We found the location peaceful while still central, with supermarkets and other things close by, which made it a good base for exploring the island. The garden is beautifully landscaped, with hammocks to relax in, and there's a laid-back bar for drinks. The family and team are super nice. You can rent motorcycles, and they'll show you how to ride and pick you up if there's an accident. Rooms are very clean and comfortable, with fans and mosquito nets, and air conditioning is an option. The rooms are top-notch for a very fair price. I'd recommend Ometepe anyway.

The small size of Casa Mauro gives it a cozy, almost home-like feel, and I really recommend going. I spent over a week there with a friend as a volunteer, helping plan social events for guests like BBQ night, taco night, and movie night. Mauro and Antonio valued all our suggestions and were always very helpful when we had new ideas or needed a hand with the planning. We had a wonderful time.
