The staff were welcoming and friendly. I went for a comedy show, and the theatre is a good size for a big crowd while still feeling intimate up close. The seats are packed together and quite narrow, and the stairs are steep. I saw older people and women in high heels having a hard time getting through the aisles.

The subtitles on both sides of the stage were really interesting. I'd never seen that at a show before. They say video and audio recording isn't allowed, but in practice people were recording on bright phone screens throughout the show, and nothing was done about it.

Amsterdam is such a multicultural city, with amazing architecture and little gems to discover without travelling far. The Royal theatre and the area around it look stunning, especially at night. On a warm evening, standing on the bridge and taking in the views, reflections in the water and boats passing by is lovely. A must see!

We went to see Hadestown, and the production was wonderful. It's a beautiful old theatre too. Make the effort to visit, you won't be disappointed 🤩

I loved this place. The theater's decor is lovely, and it has an elegant atmosphere. The drink area felt cozy and calm, with quick service and helpful women around. I was surprised to see a wall of typical Dutch fast food in such a classy venue. It reminded me that the Dutch roots were still there :)
