Hotel Allure

The apartment's cozy atmosphere and central location more than made up for a couple of drawbacks. The bathroom water pressure was low, and the Wi-Fi signal and bandwidth were rather weak. Still, we had everything we needed for the week, including a dishwasher, coffee machine, cutlery, plates, and towels. We booked through Hotel Allure for our autumn holiday in Amsterdam. The apartment was in the Muidergracht plantation, about 10 minutes from the hotel, and we weren't disappointed. Check-in and checkout were pleasant, and the staff were extremely friendly. If we return to Amsterdam, we'll look for another Allure apartment. Greetings from Austria!

The basement room looked out onto the inner courtyard. It wasn't glamorous, but it did the job if you just need somewhere to keep your bags and sleep. The staff were kind and helpful, and spoke English when needed. They never made me feel bad about my very basic Dutch. As a first-time solo traveller in Amsterdam, I found this a perfect spot. The local metro station was less than a minute away, about a 20 minute ride from Amsterdam Centraal, and De Wallen was a good 20-30 minute walk. I'd happily return, and recommend it to solo travellers looking for a good budget hotel. For me, it's a 10/10.

The location is excellent, close to a metro station and Amsterdam's great public transport. The Allure offers good value for money and does its main job well, giving you a place to sleep comfortably. It's a good 3-star hotel, so keep that category in mind. There are a few things to improve. Breakfast could use more variety, and the shower stall is so small that water spills out when you turn around. Most of all, cleanliness needs more attention. It's still a good cost-benefit option, with room to improve, especially on cleanliness.

They know about the bed bugs, and apparently have dealt with them more than once before, but the problem is still happening. I asked them to refund me and cover the laundry costs and the cost of a new hotel room. They haven't replied. Do not stay here.
