Hotel Fine Harmony

Really ridiculous. Be careful with this hotel, they lie to guests and have hidden charges. We paid through Agoda, about £100, but at check-in the staff said the room fee was paid and we still owed city tax. They calculated that tax using a £200 room fee, saying they wouldn’t accept the amount we paid through Agoda. On top of that, they charged us for “tax” that we think we had already paid on Agoda when booking. The final room cost was very expensive, and we could have chosen a better hotel for that price.

Beware, parking is listed as available, but it’s limited, paid street parking at 45 eur/day. They declined my cancellation request after finding that out.

The location is good for walking around central Amsterdam, and it’s one of the cheaper options. But be warned about the petite room with no windows. It’s tiny, under the street, and there was no space to leave our suitcases open. The bed was against a wall, so you couldn’t walk around it. Late at night, drunk people would stop on the street above and talk loudly. We asked to move, but no other room was available. Just don’t book this room!

Take care with Agoda prices! We booked this hotel through Agoda, and the hotel charged about 15% extra even though our booking confirmation said all taxes and fees were included in the confirmed price. Watch out for Agoda bookings, the price only seems cheaper because some items aren’t shown. The location is perfect, and you don’t need public transport to get around downtown. The room size and quality are reasonable for the price.
