Hotel Fita

All the staff were friendly, helpful and fluent in English. The room and breakfast were nice, and I’d happily stay here again. It’s a few minutes’ walk from the Van Gogh museum and Museumplein, on a quiet street in a busy area. There are lots of trams nearby, with routes to Central station and Zuid for services to The Hague and Rotterdam.

Matheus was especially kind and professional when we were dealing with a stressful situation. He went out of his way to help, and we really appreciated it. We’d gladly stay at Hotel Fita again. The room was very quiet at night, with a comfortable bed and a charming daytime view over a school playground. The hotel is on a lovely, quiet street close to the museums. The stairs are steep, so anyone who has difficulty with stairs should ask for a ground-floor room.

The luggage drop-off was a lifesaver, and breakfast was just what we needed to start the day. We also found the room spotless, the bed very comfortable, and the facilities excellent. The staff made the stay especially lovely with how friendly and welcoming they were, and how ready they were to help with anything. Hotel Fita is well placed for exploring the city. We had an amazing stay and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

The staff were the highlight for me. We were lucky to meet a woman originally from Morocco who made lovely pancakes and greeted everyone with a big smile. I’d give the staff 10 stars if I could. There’s a small lift from the lobby to the other floors, though you still have to carry luggage up the stairs to reach the lobby. The building is historic, and the location is convenient, with a park five minutes away and high-end shops a two-minute walk away. A direct public bus from Schipol takes about 20 minutes, and the hotel is easy to reach by tram or metro, near the Rijks Museum and the Van Gogh Museum. We stayed five nights on our recent Amsterdam trip and loved both the hotel and its staff. I’d stay again if I return.
