We stayed for a long weekend with my three adult children, and the location meant we could walk everywhere except to Keukenhof Gardens. A friend recommended Hotel Nes, and we had a really enjoyable visit. I felt it was good value, and I’d definitely recommend it and stay again. We had two rooms, each with two single beds pushed together. They were small but very clean, with everything we needed, including closet space. The bathrooms were surprisingly large and spotless. We paid extra for breakfast and thought it was excellent, with lots of choices. At reception, Helmi greeted us warmly. She upgraded us to a canal view without us asking. All weekend she was friendly, helpful, accommodating and informative.

The canal view was breathtaking, and the hotel was quiet. Our room was a good size for Amsterdam, very clean, with a comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom. The staff were so kind, answered all our questions and had great recommendations. I’d give them 10 stars if I could. I can’t recommend this hotel enough.

The room I booked had a spiral staircase, so I had to carry my luggage up and down it. The rooms are extremely small, but I’d still return and pick a different one. The hotel is well maintained, well serviced, and in a great location. The staff are great.

I had one issue with another guest, but management dealt with it. Otherwise, it was a comfortable stay. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The hotel is centrally located near the National Opera and Ballet. Puccini, an excellent coffee shop, is close by. If you’re staying in the annex, there’s no elevator.

We stayed at the NES Hotel over New Year’s Eve, from December 28 to 30, 2025, and I highly recommend it. Our fourth-floor room was warm and very clean, and the view from its window was breathtaking. The location is amazing, right in the city centre. The staff were incredible: friendly, kind and always ready to help, with a big smile. Rick and Denis are among our best memories of the Amsterdam trip. Thank you. When we return, this will be our first choice again.
